• To carry out the improvement work, traffic will be cut through the Santander direction tube from tomorrow to October 17.
• Se establecerá un itinerario alternativo debidamente señalizado a través de la carretera N-611.
• Circulation will be allowed by a lane of the road at night time, except for vehicles more than 4 meters wide, which may do so with restrictions.
• This project is part of a global effort to modernize several tunnels on the A-67, with a budget of 31.3 million euros funded by the Recovery Plan.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is making progress in the implementation of the modernization works of the tunnels of Gedo, Somaconcha, Lantueno, Las Caldas, Riocorvo and Pedredo, located on the A-67 motorway and on the N-611 road, in the province of Cantabria. This project has a total budget of 31.3 million euros (VAT included) of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) financed by European funds.
At this time, the work of extending the rolling layer with asphaltic agglomerate in the Riocorvo tunnel, in the municipality of Cartes, is going to be carried out, with the aim of improving the safety of users and increasing the durability of the road.
Therefore, and in order to guarantee the safety of workers and users; from 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, October 14, the road of the A-67 motorway in the direction of Santander will be cut in the stretch between the kilometers 172 and 176.
To ensure the fluidity of traffic during this affectation, an alternative itinerary will be enabled duly signposted through the N-611 road, with exit at link 172 (Barros) of the A-67 and return to the motorway at the Cartes link.
However, it will be allowed to travel in a lane at night from 20:00 to 7:00 hours, except for special vehicles with a width greater than 4 meters that can travel on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays between 20:00 and 21:30 hours, due to the limitations imposed in this same period by the works that are being carried out in the viaduct of Marlantes.
The impact on this stretch is expected to last until Friday, October 17.
