The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, has highlighted the incorporation from October 16 of 13 new agents to the Civil Guard Post of Reinosa, seven troops destined to the Campurrian capital and another six in practices, which means “a very important reinforcement” for the staff.
Casares has praised this in the Local Security Board of Reinosa, which has presided with the mayor, José Luis López, and in which he has valued “the collaboration and cooperation” of the Civil Guard with the Local Police in the city and which translates into a reduction of known crimes.
Specifically, during the first semester of this 2025, known criminal offenses have been reduced in Reinosa by 5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and, in addition, they decrease in “all relevant criminal typologies”.
Likewise, Casares has especially highlighted the fall of crimes in the field of cybercrime. “The general trend of increase that we have seen both in Cantabria and in the rest of Spain is broken and this type of crime registered a reduction of 18.6% in the capital of Campoo,” he said.
There has also been a “remarkable” increase in the clarification of the crimes known by the Civil Guard and the Local Police whose joint work to guarantee citizen security in Reinosa is “extraordinary”. At this point, the government delegate has also praised the “great work” of the Company of Torrelavega on which the Post of the Civil Guard in the Campurrian capital depends directly.
On the other hand, the representative of the State in Cantabria recalled that the Ministries of Interior and Ecological Transition are working together in the renovation of the Reinosa headquarters, works that are “already in their final phase of execution” and that “will involve the modernization of the units of attention to the citizen and residence of the agents”, as well as a “greater energy efficiency” of the complex.
Finally, at the Local Security Board held on Thursday, the device for the San Mateo Festivities that start this Friday has been addressed and will involve units of the Civil Guard for Citizen Security, Traffic, USECIC and SEPRONA together with the Local Police of Reinosa.
The Board was also attended by the interim head of the Civil Guard of Cantabria, Lieutenant Colonel Julio Postigo, the head of the Local Police of Reinosa and the head of the Unit for Coordination of Violence against Women of the Government Delegation, Diana Mirones, among others.
