The insular director of the General Administration of the State in La Palma, Carlos García, presided today at the Circo de Marte Theater in Santa Cruz de La Palma the commemorative act of the 50 years of Spain in freedom that has organized the Insular Directorate coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the end of the dictatorship of Francisco Franco.
The act, which is part of the initiative Spain in freedom, 50 years of the Government of Spain, has had as a target audience the students of 1st Baccalaureate of the island and has combined theater, music and debate, with the aim of bringing the youngest and youngest to the recent history of Spain and to the values of freedom, consensus and democratic coexistence.
The program of the event, presented by the journalist of Radio Televisión Canaria (RTVC) May Navarro, has included the performance of the palmer singer-songwriter Xente with a repertoire that talks about freedom, identity and hope, and the theatrical work Alonso Pérez Díaz, 50 years of freedom, based on the figure of the Palmer Republican and in charge of the company La Sastrería Teatro.
There has also been time for the screening of videos on the milestones of the Transition and a colloquium with the History professor Carlos Modesto.
This event, aimed at students of 1st Baccalaureate of the Palm Tree Capital and which combines theater, music and academic debate, falls within the framework of those who have organized the seven island headquarters of the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands within the initiative Spain in freedom, 50 years implementation by the Government of Spain.
