Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara).- The delegate of the Government in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, highlighted on Wednesday the support of the Government of Spain to the business and social development of the region and the support to municipalities and companies that generate wealth, employment and well-being among citizens.
This is what Milagros Tolón said during his visit to Azuqueca de Henares, where he visited the Liconsa plant of the Spanish multinational Insud Pharma, a leading company in the pharmaceutical sector that has highlighted its commitment to innovation, research and the generation of jobs and wealth for Azuqueca, for the Henares Corridor and the rest of the province of Guadalajara and Castilla-La Mancha.
Milagros Tolón has affirmed that the activity of Liconsa confirms the potential of this area as an economic and development engine for Castilla-La Mancha, a strategy that has the support of the Government of Spain to promote growth, employment and welfare and that is concretized in business support and direct aid.
In this regard, the delegate has seen first-hand the project to expand the productive capacity of the Azuqueca plant, which has a grant from the Government of Spain of 8.5 million euros through the regional incentive program. The project, with a total investment of 38.7 million euros, will create 65 new jobs and maintain 672 jobs.
The delegate recalled that the Government of Spain allocated to Castilla-La Mancha in 2023 a total of 53.3 million euros in subsidies through regional incentives, a program that has the collaboration of the Board of Communities in the processing of aid, which last year mobilized in the region a total investment of 254.2 million euros, the creation of 764 jobs and the maintenance of 3,240 jobs.
On the other hand, as the delegate pointed out, the company has also received 1.3 million euros from the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
The Government delegate has highlighted public-private collaboration as an effective tool for the growth and development of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as cooperation with the other public administrations and municipalities.
For his part, the CEO of Insud Pharma, Lucas Sigman, thanked the delegate for the visit to the facilities and the help provided by the Government of Spain and the other public administrations to a company that generates 1,500 jobs in Azuqueca, with an increase in the workforce in recent years and doubling production.
Prior to the visit to Liconsa, the delegate held a meeting with José Luis Blanco, mayor of Azuqueca, a municipality that has taken advantage of its social and economic potential and is among the most thriving in the region, said Milagros Tolón, who has visited the City Hall, the Leisure Center and the expansion works of the Casa de la Cultura, financed with FEDER funds through the Sustainable and Integrated Development Strategy (EDUSI).
The visit to Liconsa was also attended by the Board’s delegate in Guadalajara, José Luis Escudero, who also highlighted institutional and business collaboration as an element of growth, and the Spanish Government’s sub-delegate in Guadalajara, Mercedes Gómez.
