The Council of Ministers of 10 November 2017 adopted an agreement declaring the Autonomous Communities of Galicia and the Principality of Asturias "an area seriously affected by a civil protection emergency, as a result of the forest fires that occurred in the month of October 2017.
In order to mitigate the personal and material damage produced, in accordance with the provisions of article 24 of Law 17/2015, of July 9, on the National Civil Protection System, the aforementioned agreement determines the adoption of several measures, detailed in the section Fourth, those relating to Local Economic Cooperation:
"Damage to municipal infrastructure and road network of provincial councils"
Projects carried out by municipalities, provincial councils, districts, townships and autonomous communities in the municipal terms and population centers, relating to the works of repair or restitution of infrastructure, equipment or facilities and services of municipal ownership, included in article 25.2 of LEy 7/85, of 2 April, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and of the road network of provincial councils and autonomous communities, shall be subject to urgent procedures and may be granted a subsidy of up to 50% of their cost, without the means or materials already carried out.
