The Insular Directorate of the General Administration of the State in La Palma has created a digital platform through which, in a simple way, citizens can request a prior appointment to carry out some face-to-face procedures with the State in different municipalities of the island and without having to travel to the capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma.
This initiative, which is part of the program The Administration near you of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, which is carried out in close collaboration with the National Police, will allow neighbors and neighbors who reside outside Santa Cruz de La Palma to more easily schedule procedures such as the renewal of the National Identity Document (DNI) or Immigration Procedures from their own municipalities.
With this program, which operates an administrative decentralization within the same island for some procedures with the State, the municipalities of Barlovento, El Paso, Fuencaliente, Garafía, Los Llanos de Aridane, Puntagorda, San Andrés y Sauces, Tazacorte, Tijarafe and Villa de Mazo collaborate, whose neighbors and neighbors can benefit from the benefit of the plan The Administration near you.
The services offered in these municipalities, thanks to the collaboration of their respective municipalities, include:
- Obtaining or renewing the National Identity Document (DNI), managed with the operational collaboration of the National Police.
- Procedures related to Electronic Certificate and Cl@ve.
- Management in the field of Foreigners, including the homologation of titles.
- Procedures with Social Security such as information on pensions, disabilities, minimum vital income and health care.
“This initiative brings essential services to citizens, avoiding unnecessary displacement and speeding up administrative procedures,” says the island director of the General Administration of the State in La Palma, Carlos García.
“Since our Ministry launched the plan The Administration near you Three years ago we have already attended about 5,000 people in the least populated municipalities of the island, offering a proximity service with which, in addition, we also intend to promote the use of Electronic Administration, which facilitates even more administrative procedures. In fact, we have carried out more than 2,400 procedures related to electronic identification systems such as permanent Cl@ve and the certificate of the National Currency and Stamp Factory”, he adds.
How do I book an appointment?
The process to request a prior appointment is simple and is done in three steps:
