On October 24, 2024, the Resolution of October 17, 2024, of the General Directorate of Attention to Victims and Promotion of Democratic Memory, was published in the BOE, which published the Agreement to initiate the procedure of declaration of Place of Democratic Memory of “The former Provincial Prison of Madrid (better known as Carabanchel Prison)”. The initiation of this procedure entails the preventive annotation of the property in the Inventory of Places of Democratic Memory, in accordance with article 50.3 of Law 20/2022, of October 19, on Democratic Memory.
Therefore, once the allegations made in the hearing procedure and the requested reports have been incorporated, the General Directorate for the Promotion of Democratic Memory has agreed to open a period of public information for 21 working days from the day following the publication of that same agreement (art. 82 and 83 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations).
The purpose of the public information procedure is to give the option to those who have an interest in the matter to examine the dossier and to make whatever they deem appropriate. The request for consultation and the allegations can be presented in any of the Registers established in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, or on this same website via this form.
Once your request has been processed, it will be possible to access the file through the following link: https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/login/index/idp/535, by entering the DNI provided in the form.
Queries or allegations may be submitted for a period of 21 working days from the day following the publication of this agreement in the Official Gazette of the State, so that all those who have an interest in the matter may examine the file and state what they deem appropriate with regard to the property.
