The municipality of Velilla de San Antonio is “extraordinarily safe” in light of the crime data recorded so far in 2025, which places the crime rate “more than 20 points below the average of the Community of Madrid”, as explained today the government delegate, Francisco Martín Aguirre, in the course of the local Security Board.
In March 2025, this rate was established at 34.28 points, which has meant a decrease of one point in relation to the rate of 2024; being much lower than the average of the CAM (56.5) according to the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State in March 2025.
The comparison between the accumulated period of the year 2025 and the same time lapse of 2024, shows a positive result, as there has been a decrease of 6.01% in the total of criminal offenses, as a direct consequence of the decrease in infractions against the patrimony of 12.20%.
In the opinion of the government delegate, who co-chaired the meeting with the mayor of Velilla de San Antonio, Antonia Alcázar Jiménez, these figures are the result of the “excellent work, professionalism and good work” of the Security Forces and Bodies and the coordination and support they also receive from the City Council and all the neighbors.
In this regard, it has reiterated the commitment of the Government of Spain to security through the reinforcement of the staffs that has led to reaching historic numbers of troops at a rate of proportional growth above the increase of the population. “We want to continue in this line because we do not settle for these data, we want to continue improving them,” he said.
Security Plan for the Patron Festivities
During the Meeting, attended by representatives of the Government team, the Civil Guard and Civil Traffic Guard, the Local Police and the Local Civil Protection Service, the device has been reviewed in which the possible security risks have been contemplated in the different locations where events and events will take place during the Patron Festivities of Velilla de San Antonio, which will run from 26 to 30 September in honor of the Most Holy Christ of Patience.
It includes the participation of the different Security Forces with an active part in the device, details on evacuation routes and timely prevention measures, or the location of the Advanced Command Posts or the Advanced Health Post.
Also the location of the Violeta Points, for which the government delegate has congratulated the Consistory for its commitment to this type of tools to deter attacks and to care for victims.
She also wanted to acknowledge her commitment in the fight against gender violence, manifested among other aspects in her full integration into the VioGén system that, she recalled, will have to be renewed to adapt it to the new operating procedure, and she hoped that her example could be “inspiring” for other municipalities that have not yet taken the step of joining this system.
