The Government Delegation in Extremadura approaches society in Open Administration Week 2025
The Government Delegation in Extremadura joins the Open Administration Week 2025 with a program that seeks to bring the institution closer to the citizens. In total, nine activities will be carried out (four of them in the province of Badajoz and five in the province of Cáceres) aimed at different groups, including university students, technicians of local administrations, schoolchildren and members of associations and NGOs dedicated to helping migrants. In 2025, Open Administration Week is celebrated from May 19 to 25.
Programming in the province of Badajoz
The events of the Government Delegation in Extremadura in the province of Badajoz will begin on Tuesday, May 20. At 11:00 a.m., in the conference room of the Delegation, there will be an open day for university students in which students from the University of Extremadura will participate. The event has a double objective: to publicize the services offered by the Government Delegation and to attract young talent in the Public Administration, informing participants about the forms of access to public employment.
On Wednesday, May 21, the Government Delegation in Extremadura will participate in the Provincial Technology Fair of La Albuera, organized by the County Council of Badajoz and the City Council of La Albuera, through the activity called “Know the Electronic Administration”, aimed at deepening the implementation of online procedures through the use of the electronic certificate. In this way, an outreach work is carried out to familiarize citizens with the facilities provided by the Administration through the Internet.
During the speech, special emphasis will be placed on the program “Administration near you”, which has been carried out by the Government Delegation in Extremadura since November 2022 making visits to different locations to give talks on electronic processing and obtaining digital certificates or Permanent Key. After these presentations, attendees over 18 years of age will be offered the possibility of obtaining the digital certificate to access the electronic procedures of the Administration.
On Thursday, 22 May, the awards ceremony of the drawing and painting contest “The Government Delegation in Extremadura” will take place. The contest, in which 4th grade primary school students from the city of Badajoz participate, consists of making a drawing of the facade of the building of the Government Delegation (Avda. de Huelva, 4, Badajoz). The classrooms of the three awarded students will attend the event, in which in addition to the award ceremony the schoolchildren will receive some notions about what the Government Delegation is and what its functions are.
Already on Friday 23 May, at 11:00 a.m., there will be a conference on the new Regulation on Foreigners to be held in the Government Delegation itself. This activity aims to inform the institutions, organizations and associations dedicated to the assistance of foreign persons, refugees and migrants about the novelties that arise with the new Royal Decree 1155/2024, of November 19, which approves the Regulation of Organic Law 4/2000, of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration.
This is intended to facilitate the understanding of the regulations in order to improve the processing of permits and applications submitted by foreign citizens. The activity will be taught by the head of the Office of Foreigners of the Government Delegation in Extremadura.
Activities in the province of Cáceres
The Subdelegation of the Government in Cáceres will carry out five activities within the framework of Open Administration Week 2025. The program opens on Monday, May 19, with a visit from the Early Childhood Education students of the C.P. Extremadura de Cáceres a Civil Protection, in which you will be able to know at first hand the operation of this unit.
The next day, May 20, there will be an information day on the new Aliens Regulations. Subsequently, on Wednesday 21 the Subdelegation of the Government in Cáceres will carry out a day of doors open in which all the services provided in this institution will be made known, both face-to-face and digitally. For its part, the National Geographic Institute (IGN) will be the protagonist of the activities of the 22 of May through a workshop in which it is intended to make known to the citizens the different forms of collaboration existing with this institution.
Finally, on the Friday 23 of May there will be a conference on the Digital Certificate in which the emphasis will be on explaining to the citizens the complete process of application and obtaining in mobile devices. In this way, an ICT team from the Government Subdelegation in Cáceres will help attendees obtain their personal certificate through their own mobile device, as well as install and export it for use on other devices.
