The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is implementing the works of modernization of the tunnels of Caviedes, Hoz, Torrelavega (on the A-8), Gibaja and Limpias (on the N-629 road), all of them in Cantabria.
These works are financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) with a total amount of 13.13 million euros.
Therefore, and in order to guarantee the safety of workers and users, from Monday to Friday from 00:00 hours on Mondays to 13:00 hours on Fridays, the cut of the right lane of the Bilbao/Palencia direction tube will take place. These affectations have begun tonight and will last, predictably, until Friday, October 31.
The works will be executed along the tunnel, so the starting area of the works runs from the entrance mouth to the exit mouth.
As a result of the physical occupation of the work, the free width for the passage of vehicles through the tunnel will be reduced to 4 meters, so that special transports that exceed these dimensions will be forced to be diverted by the exit before the tunnel (Exit 230) towards the A-67a direction Santander.
In the development of these actions, the network of polluting discharges in the Bilbao/Palencia direction tube of the Torrelavega tunnel, located between kilometers 229 and 230 of the A-8, will be executed.
