On October 16, 2025, the Director General of Victim Care signed the agreement to initiate the administrative procedure for the activity of locating, exhumating and identifying human remains in the common grave located in the Alto de la Mesa area, in the municipality of El Arenal (Ávila), in accordance with the provisions of article 18 of Law 20/2022 of October 19, on Democratic Memory (LMD).
Then, in line with the provisions of article 18.4 of the LMD, a period of public information of twenty working days is opened, starting from the day following the publication of this announcement in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The purpose of the public information procedure is to give the option to those who have an interest in the matter to examine the dossier and to make whatever they deem appropriate.
The claims can be presented in any of the Registers established in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, or on this same website via this form.
