Guadalix de la Sierra has today constituted its Local Security Board with the objective of strengthening the cooperation and operational coordination of the Security Forces and Bodies that intervene in its municipal term.
The Spanish Government’s delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, and the mayor of the town, Borja Álvarez González, accompanied by representatives of the government team, the Guardia Civil, the Local Police of Guadalix de la Sierra and the local Civil Protection Group, were responsible for initialling the agreement and presiding over the meeting.
The Local Security Boards are a coordinating body that has proven its usefulness in the search for formulas for police collaboration with a favourable impact on public security and in achieving a certain homogeneity and making possible joint actions of mutual collaboration and reciprocal cooperation.
In addition, they are also information coordination bodies that facilitate the correct planning of public security and a greater rapprochement between society and Security Forces and Corps. In this regard, the government delegate has shown his conviction that “from the proximity between all the administrations, solutions are built in favor of the neighbors.”
Security Plan for the Patron Festivities
On the occasion of the beginning of the Guadalix de la Sierra Patron Festivities, which begin today and will last until September 10, the special security device has been presented, which will have the participation of 20 members of the Civil Guard of the Soto del Real Post, as well as the support of specialized units. This reinforcement will ensure the good development of the festivities and the safety of neighbors and visitors.
In addition, the Civil Protection operation will be organized in three shifts a day —morning, afternoon and night— and will have the participation of about 15 volunteers a day. On peak days, such as Friday and Saturday, the number of volunteers will increase to 20 or 25 per day. In addition, during the night shift, the square will have the presence of a doctor and a nurse to attend to any health incident that may arise.
Favorable evolution of crime data
During the meeting, the crime rates in Guadalix de la Sierra have also been reviewed, which are evolving positively “in a very solid way”, said Francisco Martín. In fact, the municipality maintains one of the lowest crime rates in the entire Community of Madrid, up to 30 points below the average in the region.
