The laboratory, installed in the school of El Puerto de Tazacorte, will be a provisional infrastructure within the DELTA project that is being developed on the island. Another of the strategic projects of PLOCAN in La Palma is the creation of what will be known as Blue Innovation Center. This will be a strategic space to launch startups and develop new blue economy technologies linked to the island, attracting not only the interest of the scientific community, but talent and capital.
El Blue Innovation Center It will seek to create science, in which scientific advances and discoveries are applicable in the local economy. Entrepreneurship and technological innovation will be promoted. This initiative, which will have the collaboration of the Canary Islands universities, aims to boost the blue economy through three key axes: infrastructure, specialized training and economic viability through projects and funds.
The goal of the Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of the Island of La Palma, Héctor Izquierdo Triana, is that, through innovative and future projects such as this, the Reconstruction not only manages to replenish what has been lost by the volcano, but also the sustainable growth of the island as a whole.
